It is rare for the International Film Festival Rotterdam, held in the Netherlands, to invite a Japanese film to their program. Which makes it even more impressive that Rei, actor Toshihiko Tanaka’s first hand at directing, won the most prestigious honor, the Tiger Award. The film was subtitled into English by JVTA.
